Spring Flower 4.2.06Image by daniel doman via Flickr
As Vancouver emerges from it's chrysalid, with the beautiful blossoms of spring, we can enjoy the warmth of outdoors and gardening, celebrate Father's Day and get ready for Canada Day.  And if those 'nucks' come through we will have a double celebration.  But for those rainy days here are some of my latest finds beyond Google!

BIBLE  and EDUCATIONAL GAMES

Adventures in Odyssey.  Catch up on the radio show and listen to podcasts.

AdventureBible is a Beta, Zondervan production that teaches students more about the Bible whilst playing games.  This safe and interactive site allows you to use a variety of online resources to customize lesson plans for your class, post assignments and track student progress.

Club Penguin   This older Disney online game encourages global citizenship and safe online play.
Free subscription entitles you to basic play and your child will have filtered chat and live moderators.  Access to special features requires a membership.
For more Disney games go to their official website.

Professor Garfield. For ages 7 and up these games offer educational content.  "Garfield the cat is at his best. He's the resident "edu-cat-or" on a jazzy spaceship. Robots help you decide which activities to try first. You might drop by the "Art-Bot" to watch videos on how to draw Garfield and other animals. Garfield's creator, Jim Davis, inspires budding cartoonists with his upbeat tutorials. "G-Cubed" is an addictive multiplayer trivia game. Smaller kids will like a visit to "Orson's Farm" to have some fun with rhyming words." Commonsense Media.

SCIENCE

ScienceWith Me! is a free educational science website for elementary age children. Their website offers science movies and songs, free science coloring sheets, free science worksheets, fun science projects for kids and stories to help young children learn scientific principles and science the fun way.  Thanks to Amber for sharing:)

The Jason Project

Are you looking for a way to connect your students with great explorers and great events in Science? You do not have to look any further than The Jason Project! Their free online curriculum is designed primarily for the middle grades but can be adapted to fit any grade level.

BodyMaps is an interactive visual search tool that allows users to explore the human body in 3-D. With easy-to-use navigation, users can search multiple layers of the human anatomy, view systems and organs down to their smallest parts, and understand in detail how the human body works.
